THE STORY OF A KINGDOM

Morocco: A Legacy of Knowledge and Authenticity

A Journey Through the Birth of Moroccan Statehood

Morocco's story began long before the rise of its first Islamic dynasty. For thousands of years, Amazigh communities shaped the land, its traditions and its identity. In the late 8th century, Idris I arrived in Morocco and established the foundations of the Idrisid dynasty, traditionally regarded as the first Moroccan Islamic state. His son, Idris II, further developed Fez into an important political, religious and intellectual center. Over the centuries, dynasties such as the Almoravids, Almohads, Marinids, Saadians and Alaouites shaped Morocco's cities, institutions and cultural heritage, contributing to the development of a distinctive Moroccan identity that continues to this day.
